Digital Integration: The Rules for an Internet Accessible to All

Ensuring the accessibility of a website means creating an inclusive digital environment in which every individual-regardless of his or her physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities-can access online content, understand it with ease, navigate it intuitively, and interact fully with the features offered.

Digital accessibility is not limited to the application of technical requirements or the adoption of international standards: it is the concrete expression of an ethical and legal principle that protects the right of every person to actively participate in the information society. In particular, for people with disabilities, it means being able to use digital tools independently, without barriers and on equal terms with other users.

01

W3C - WCAG 2.1
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are part of a set of international recommendations developed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), within the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define the technical criteria for making Web content accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

02

EUROPEAN UNION - WAD / EAA
Web Accessibility Directive / European Accessibility Act

EU Directive 2016/2102, known as the Web Accessibility Directive, establishes an obligation for member countries to ensure that digital sites and applications of public (and to some extent private) entities meet certain accessibility standards. This legislation is part of the larger framework of the European Accessibility Act, which promotes equitable access to digital technologies throughout the European Union.

03

ITALY - AGID
Law 4/2004 (Stanca Law)

In Italy, digital accessibility is regulated by Law 4/2004, known as the Stanca Law. Coordination and implementation are entrusted to AGID (Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale), which defines the technical requirements and methods for making websites and IT services accessible to people with disabilities.
